You deserve betterApr 27, 2022
Losing a spouse is the worst-case scenario. Living in the initial aftermath is to attempt to navigate unprecedented darkness with no GPS.
Later, it’s about attempting to function in a world that has been shattered.
Eventually you find a way to exist, and yet you’re not truly living.
Which is the second worst-case scenario: to exist without really living. It is to settle for status quo; to believe that you can’t possibly be happy because he isn’t here; to choose misery as the only remaining symbol of love; to sentence yourself to a lifetime of merely existing because of the regret you carry.
Michele was in this place, living a self-imposed life sentence of merely existing, not allowing herself to feel happiness in the last 3 ½ years since her husband passed. We started working together 7 weeks ago. In the past week, she has given herself permission to dream again. She is excited about life. She is looking forward to the future.
And she isn’t alone. She’s following in the footsteps of many others who have discovered that it is possible to live again, to reconstruct life after loss, and to feel happiness pulse through their veins.
This is within your reach. And it can be done in honor of him, fueled by his love.
You deserve better than to merely exist. It’s time to live again.
