Thanksgiving can bring traditions, expectations, family dynamics, difficult conversations—and the glaring physical absence of your person.

Maybe you're already wondering...

Do I really want to host this year?
What if my kids want everything to stay the same and I don't?
How do I let people know it's okay to talk about my person?
What do I say when someone asks a question I don't want to answer?
What if I'll be spending Thanksgiving alone?
What if I make a plan now and feel completely differently when Thanksgiving arrives?

Don't wait until Thanksgiving Day to figure out how you'll navigate all of that.

Join me for a practical workshop designed specifically for widowed people. Together, we'll think through what you want Thanksgiving to look like this year, what you need, what you don't want, what you can say when conversations get uncomfortable, and how you can support yourself throughout the day.

Monday, November 16

Come with your questions. Leave with a plan.

This workshop is for you whether this is your first Thanksgiving without your person or your fifteenth.

Whether you're hosting, going somewhere else, spending the day alone, keeping every tradition, changing everything—or you have absolutely no idea what you want yet—you are welcome here.

You'll leave with your Thanksgiving plan

By the end of our time together, you'll have a plan for:

  • What you want to keep, change, or skip this year

  • How—or whether—you want your person intentionally included in the day

  • What you need from family and friends

  • How to make room for people who may be grieving differently than you

  • What to say when someone asks an intrusive question or makes an uncomfortable comment

  • How to communicate a boundary without over-explaining it

  • What Thanksgiving could look like if you'll be spending the day alone

  • Words you can use when you want people to mention your person—or when you'd rather not talk about something
  • Your Plan B if the day arrives and you need something different

Most importantly, you'll leave knowing this is a plan for this Thanksgiving.

You retain the right to change your mind, change the plan, and decide all over again next year.

You'll also receive a Thanksgiving Planning Guide to use during the workshop.

You won't have to take frantic notes. I'll give you a simple planning guide so you can work through your own Thanksgiving as we go—including what you want to keep, change or skip; the words you may want to use with family and friends; and your Plan A and Plan B for the day.

You don't need to create the perfect Thanksgiving.

You don't need to make everyone else happy. You don't need to recreate the holidays you had before your person died. And you don't have to know today exactly what you'll need on Thanksgiving Day.

We're simply going to make a thoughtful plan for this year—with room to change your mind if you need something different when the day arrives.
