Music
You are listening to the Life Reconstructed podcast with me, Teresa Amaral Beshwate, grief
expert, best-selling author and widow. I’m so glad you’re here because in this and every
episode, I shine a light on the widowed way forward.
Hello and welcome to episode 159. In this episode, I introduce the free Time Doesn’t Heal
companion course and explain how it helps you move from understanding grief intellectually to
applying life-changing concepts in your daily life. You’ll learn how hidden, repetitive thoughts
shape your emotions and actions — and how this guided course helps you uncover and shift the
ones that keep you stuck. If you’re ready to take the book deeper and experience coaching-style
support, this episode will show you where to begin.

Hello, and welcome back to the podcast.
Today I want to talk to you about something that I’ve poured my heart and soul into.
It’s the free course that accompanies my book Time Doesn’t Heal.
If you’ve read the book — or you’re in the middle of it — this episode is especially for you.
Because the course is designed to take the concepts from the book and help you actually apply
them in your life.
And that matters.
Because understanding grief intellectually is not the same as changing how you experience your
life after loss.
So today I want to share what the course is, what it contains, and why it might be exactly what
you need right now.
There’s a quote I love by Flannery O’Connor:
“I write because I don’t know what I think until I read what I say.”
Researchers estimate that we think about 60,000 thoughts a day.
And the vast majority — about 90% — are on repeat.
Which means they’re very hard to notice.
They’re happening in the background. In the subconscious mind.
But like all thoughts, they shape how we feel.
They influence what we do.
And they ultimately determine the results we create in our lives.
Let me give you a simple example.
You likely believe that brushing your teeth is important.
But you don’t sit down every morning and reason it out.
You’re not thinking:
“Well, I should brush my teeth today because it prevents cavities and promotes gum health.”
You just do it.
That’s an example of a hidden thought that benefits you.
But what about the hidden thoughts that don’t?
The ones that quietly keep you stuck.
The ones that prevent you from fully living this one, precious life.
Thoughts like:
“I’m too old and it’s too late.”
“I’m not pretty enough, thin enough, smart enough, talented enough.”
“I’ve never been able to…”
“I can’t do life without them.”
These thoughts are often so well-practiced that they become beliefs.
And then they disappear into the subconscious mind — where they continue to run your life
without your awareness.
That’s what we’re working with in the Time Doesn’t Heal course.
The goal is to dig up those sneaky, hidden thoughts.
To bring them into the light.
To examine them for truth. For usefulness. For kindness.
Because once you can see them, you can change them.
And once you change them, your experience of life begins to change.
So what is this course?
It’s a free, guided experience that follows the structure of the book — but takes you deeper.
It’s for you if:
• You want to take the book’s concepts to the next level and actually apply them.
• You want to experience what coaching for the loss of a spouse is like.
• You’ve considered working with me in the future but don’t want to wait to start making
changes.
• Or you simply don’t have the opportunity to work with me personally — and want the next best
thing.
This course truly is the next best thing.
Because I created it with the same care, intention, and depth that I bring to my clients.
Inside the course, you’ll find:
Guided meditations that help calm your nervous system and create emotional space.
Guided exercises that help you identify your patterns, your thoughts, and your emotional
responses.
Additional journal prompts — even if you already have the Time Doesn’t Heal journal.
These prompts go deeper. They help you uncover layers you didn’t know were there.
Seasonal tools to help you navigate holidays, anniversaries, and the rhythms of the year after
loss.
And perhaps most meaningful of all — the ability to ask questions and receive answers from me
personally.
Because this isn’t meant to be passive learning.
It’s meant to be an interactive, supportive process.
Think of the book as the map.
And the course as the guided journey.
Reading helps you understand the terrain.
But guided practice helps you actually walk the path.
And walking the path is what creates change.
This course is about learning to observe your mind.
Learning to notice what you’ve been believing — often without realizing it.
Because when hidden thoughts remain hidden, they quietly dictate your life.
But when they’re brought into awareness, you gain choice.
You gain agency.
You gain the ability to create a life that honors your person — and honors you.
If you’ve been feeling stuck…
If you’ve been reading the book and thinking, “I understand this, but I’m not sure how to
implement it”…
If you’re curious about coaching…
Or if you simply want structured support as you rebuild your life…
This course is for you.
And it’s available right now.

Go at your own pace.
And let this be one more step toward a life that feels meaningful again.
